LOVE OR LOATHE: ROSE CORD NECKLACE

The rose cord necklace, do you love or loathe it?

The ’90s were known for a lot of fashion trends, but arguably, the choker necklace was the most memorable. In the ‘90s, the classic choker necklace peaked, specifically with lace iterations. Any and all chokers were hot in the ‘90s. The lace choker iterations went with the gothic vibe. While the tattoo-styled chokers were more grunge. This trend made a resurgence and stayed around for a while until we abandoned the choker altogether, until now.

Not only are we going back to our roots of the Tumblr trend of chokers and the classic ‘90s chokers, but we’re also now seeing a new and updated iteration of the classic choker. The rose cord choker necklace. Unfortunately, years before this became a trend, I searched everywhere for the giant flower accent on a choker and couldn’t find it anywhere. While I love a good DIY, I could not have been bothered to DIY it. It was only recently that I was able to find the choker that I searched and searched for.

Among the many trends that are in, this may have to be one of my favorites. It may be due to the months I spent searching, but nonetheless, the trend is hot (and hasn’t made its way to TikTok yet). This is your chance to get ahead of the trend before it becomes the next oversized pendant necklace.

Here are a few of my current favorites:
